Course Objective
- To provide an understanding of Crystal Reports in order to create standard reports.
Pre-requisites
- No previous knowledge of Crystal Reports is required although basic computer knowledge
including mouse and keyboard skills are assumed.
Outline
- Customising your working environment - includes how to set up default field formats and fonts for your reports.
- Creating a new report - a step by step guide on how to create a report from scratch including working with the data explorer and the visual linking expert.
- Linking tables - adding and removing databases; using autolinking.
- Adding fields to the report - working with text objects, special fields and database fields.
- Select Expert - working with the different operators in the select expert to filter the records of the report.
- Grouping and sorting - the main tool for organising and ordering data on your reports, including a section on specified order grouping.
- Adding graphics - adding a company logo to your report and formating individual/multiple sections for a customised report.
- Totalling and summarising - adding different types of totals and summaries to your reports makes analysis easier and more effective.
- Chart expert - a step by step guide through the chart expert to visually represent your data.
- An introduction to formulas - an overview of the formula editor, working with arithmetic and string operators.
- Exporting options - exporting your Crystal Reports into a variety of different formats including HTML, PDF, Word and Excel.
